Here are some of the homeopathic remedies that are used in the treatment of arthritis that expresses itself in specific ways.
Aconitum: This is indicated when the arthritis is associated with with fever, restlessness, and anxiety.

Arthritis that starts in lower joints and extends to higher ones are candidate for this remedy. arthritis pain and inflammation often begin in the toes and spread upward to the ankles and knees. The joints may also make cracking sounds. Ledum is strongly indicated when swelling is significant and relieved by cold applications.
Mercurius: for arthritis pain and swelling of joints, worse at night, profuse sweat, pericardial complications.
Mercurius sulphuricus: for rheumatic synovitis.
Pulsatilla nigricans: Used with women and children when their arthritis pain is made worse by heat, better by cold.
Pulsatilla: Swelling and arthritis pain from one joint to another. Use when arthritis pain and swelling in worse in the evening and from heat and improve with the application of cold packs. The person tends to be timid and depressed. In female patients symptoms that might be accompany the joints arthritis pains would be menstrual problems.
Rhus toxicodendron: Is indicated Lack of movement causes arthritis pain and stiffness and if the person is apprehensive and depressed, particularly at night.
Rhus tox: The arthritis pains are worse on the first motion, worse from standing up from a sitting position but better from continued motion. Normally the symptoms are experienced first thing in the morning. A hot bath improves the Symptoms and they worsen in cold weather.
Sulphuricum: Recommended when the arthritis arthritis pains are worse at night, and intensified by warmth.
Scientific Evaluations of Homeopathic Remedies - Not Encouraging
One double-blind study compared the effectiveness of the homeopathic remedy Rhus tox against the anti-inflammatory drug fenoprofen, as well as placebo. The results were not promising. At the conclusion of the study, the homeopathic remedy Rhus Tox proved no more effective than placebo.
A much larger double-blind study compared a "homeopathic gel" (concentrations far beyond typical homeopathic levels and a compound remedy in violation of classical homeopathy) containing the remedies Symphytum officinale, Rhus toxicodendron, and Ledum palustre against a gel made from the anti-inflammatory drug piroxicam. Of the 184 people with knee arthritis who were enrolled in this study, 172 were followed for the full 4 weeks. The results showed that the two treatments were equally effective. However, these results are not as promising as they might at first appear. Oral piroxicam is a well-established therapy for osteoarthritis, but the effectiveness of piroxicam gel is far from clear.
Unfortunately this is a good example of the poor quality in the available research related to these issues.
