Plant Description

Jasmine is an evergreen shrub or vinr that grows up to 35 feet. It has delicate bright green leaves and star shaped flowers that bloom at night.

Aromatherapy Uses:

The essential oil is very costly, of which the French oil is the most expensive, because of the enormous quantity of flowers needed to produce a relatively small amount of oil. The labour costs are also pushed up because the flowers are gathered at night. Remember that "bargains" in Jasmine oil should be questioned by knowledgeable therapists.

Emotionally warming. Relaxes, soothes, uplifts and helps self confidence. Good for stress and general anxiety. Jasmine essential oil is wonderful for skin care, especially hot, dry and sensitive skins. It will help relieve redness and itching. It is useful in treating dermatitis Sensual properties and reputedly an Aphrodisiac.  Only needs to be used in very small quantities.
