Deep Tissue Compression
to the Erectors |
Starting at the upper back hold the edge of the selected tool
at a 45° angle. Sink into the Erectors with a compression stroke down to the
Illiac Crest. Discuss your client’s tolerance level and adjust the pressure
accordingly through the use of your body weight. |
Cross Fiber to the
Erectors |
Use the edge of any tool to cross fiber the Erectors or any
muscle group. The slim edge allows you to effectively separate the tissue. |
Cross Fiber with the
Luna or the Terra |
With the wedge of the Luna or the Terra use a leverage action
to scoop at the musculature. Works great on hard-to-get spots, including the
Multifidi. |
Trigger Point Therapy
for the Rhomboids |
Using the tip of the tool, compress trigger points and other
ischemic tissue using fingers or thumb of the free hand to stabilize and
guide your movement. Flush the worked area with a gliding stroke. |
Cross Fiber and
Compress Quadratus Lumborum |
Place the Terra at a 45° angle to the spine (avoiding the
transverse process) compress and scoop at the Quadratus Lumborum and Lumbar
Erectors. |
Compress and Flush the
Back |
Support your fist with the Solaris while compressing and
flushing the tissue using any and all of your knuckles. Try cross fibering
too. |
Separating Erector Fibers with the Luna’s
Tip |
Compression strokes down the Lamina Groove are effective and
feel great. The glazed ends of the tool glide easily along the spine without
discomfort. |
Compress and Separate
Muscle Fibers |
With the crown tip of the Solaris, compress and glide to
separate tissue of Erectors. This works well in all muscle groups and is
especially nice with a warmed tool. |
Specific Work to the
Cervicals |
With the Terra’s small tip, compress
and cross fiber the Suboccipitals. Using the thumb of the free hand, guide
and support the tip/wedge as you work. Even more effective when used with a
warmed tool. |
Spot Compression to
Cervicals |
Compress the Cervical muscles just
posterior of the transverse process. Use the thumb of the free hand to
palpate and guide the tool during cross fiber work. Check frequently for
tolerance. |
Compress and Stretch
the Upper Trapezius |
With stacked joints from the wrist to
the elbow, compress and stretch the upper Trapezius, while rotating your
fist, stretching towards the shoulder. |
Spot Compression to
Upper Back |
Use the tip of the Luna or Terra to
compress the upper Trapezius, Levator and Erectors at C-7 through the
Thoracic Vertebrae using the point-to-point technique and flush with the
edge or tip. |
Use the Terra for
Seated Massage |
The Terra is a great addition to
seated massage. It’s effective in neuromuscular work and compresses tissue
with ease. The smooth surface glides easily over all types of clothing. |
Compress and Work the
Gluteals |
Hold the tool in your fist and
compress the Gluteals and Lateral Rotators with your knuckles. Rotate your
hand and add body weight to stretch the tissue. |
Trigger Point to the
Gluteals |
With the tip or crown of a tool,
compress trigger points and other Ischemic tissue in the Gluteals or Lateral
Rotators. Let the thumb or fingers of the free hand guide and assess during
the process. |
Reflexology |
Whether gliding with the edge,
compressing with the tip or wedging between the Metatarsals, the Terra is an
effective reflexology tool for feet or hands. |
Self-Care
EarthStone Massage Tools are also
excellent for self-care. As shown above, use the wedge or edge of the tools
on the forearm. |
Self-Care
Warming the tool and using the tip on
the Suboccipitals under the Mastoid is another type of effective self-care
massage. |
